Analysis

In this project we filmed and edited 2 adverts. We were given a brief which told us what we had to do and what we would need to research. The brief said we had to film 2 adverts, 1 in the TV studio and 1 outside the TV studio (basically in the school building or outside). The adverts had to be either a film genre or classic film. We did one from each genre, one was a dance advert (flips, Outside) and one was a horror advert (Twilight, TV Studio).

The first advert we filmed (Twilight) conformed to the brief, as we used a range of different camera shots. The second adverts (flips) conformed to the brief as well, as it was easy to edit and the final advert looked more or less the same as the storyboard. The 2 adverts are really good as they stick to the brief and parts of the storyboards. We were meant to do a storyboard and stick to it but, when filming we didn't have our storyboards on us so we had to improvise it.

In terms of Mise- en- scene I think we could of done better as we didn't use much lighting and props apart from the darkness of the Twilight advert. But we did use coke bottles which showed the audience what our new brand looked liked.

Beacause we planned out our adverts and made a storyboard it was easy to use  a range of camera shots in both advertisements. We used long shots, medium shots, close ups, extreme close ups, so the camera shots speak for it self.

Overall i think the adverts came out well and conformed to the briefs.

analysis of final video project

In media we filmed two adverts. We were a brief which are adverts that we created had to confine to. The brief said that we had to film two adverts, one that was filmed inside and one that was filmed outside. The adverts had to be either a classic film or a classic genre. We did one from each.  I believe that our adverts conformed with the brief, as we filmed our classic genre (horror) inside the TV studio, and our classic film (save the last dance) outside.

I think that the first advert we filmed (twilight advert) conformed to the brief, as we used a range of camera shots and used everybody's idea. The second advert (save the last dance) we filmed was easy to edit and that stuck more to the story board. We were meant to do a story board and stick to it but unfortunately, we had to make there were some shots that we had on the storyboard that didn't get used because when we were filming we didn't have our storyboard at hand.

In terms of Mise- en- scene I think we could of paid more attention to it when filming, as we didn't use much props although in our first advert we did use dark lighting to set the dark scene we needed. The second advert we used a coke bottle as a prop but it didn't tell the audience anything as certain props used usually do.

We used a range of camera shots in both advertisements. We used long shots, medium shots, close ups, extreme close ups and panning in both adverts, however we didn't use panning in our first advert, as we didn't need to but we did zoom in so that it was as if the camera was being drawn to their conversation.

On a whole i believe the adverts came out well and conformed to the briefs well.

Evaluation

During this project we had to come up with two adverts to advertise a new coke product called 'Coke Classic'. We had to look at other adverts on 'Youtube' we had to look at the way they catch the attention of the target audience, after we had to think of idea's that we would do for our advert and then narrowed it down to four and then chose the best two, we then had to draw storyboards saying what's happening in each shot and label each shot (e.g. Close up, ...). We done this good as a group but it was kind of tricky choosing idea's.

The filming was ok, it wasn't great but we got the footage we needed, i mainly worked on the 'flip' advert whilst the girls worked on the 'twilight' due to time. There was also a time where the girls thought that they had not filmed one of the advertisements as we could not find it on the tape, but luckily we found it. We filmed many different shots like  long shot, medium shot, close ups, wide shots.

Editing the adverts went very well because we all worked together  taking turns in the final edit. I had good idea's for effects and transitions as well as cutting the clips. There were a few times when we were editing and we felt that there were a few things we could had done to make the adverts better like having more clips etc... , we learnt a lot from miss about editing using final cut pro and making the advertisement look better.

i think our advertisements looked good for our age especially as we had no experience of making anything with these professional equipment. Overall i thought the project was great and Im hoping to get a very good grade in this!!!

Evaluation

During this project we had to come up with two adverts to advertise 'coke classic'. We worked in groups of three or more. We had to think up ideas for our adverts and draw them in a story board. We worked well as a group, but sometimes clashed with choosing ideas.

Shooting the adverts went very well because we were organised. We all had a turn at working with the camera and I think I worked well with directing the actors and making sure the shot was well placed. Not a lot of shots were needed in our adverts. The shooting went well, however, there were some problems due to actors re-scheduling and poor weather conditions.

Editing the adverts went well because we all worked together with taking turns and sharing our ideas. I have a good visual eye in that I know what looks good structurally and aesthetically. However, I need to have confidence in actually producing those ideas on the computer.

All in all, I feel our adverts were a huge success and we succeeded in reaching our aim in having interesting, fun and original adverts. We hope to see our work in the golden obies next year!

Evaluation

In class we planned and filmed advertisements. The product we were advertising was coke classic.
We discussed in our groups what ideas we had each and then narrowed it down to four and then chose the best two. We decided to use a classic genre for he indoors advertisement were we took a twilight scene and changed the lines from the scene to advertise coke classic. We used a classic dance film to advertise coke classic outdoors.

The filming was stressful because we had to reschedule due to actors being unreliable and whether conditions, but in the end it was a huge success and we filmed so good footage, using long shot, medium shot, close ups, 2 shots. There was also a time where we thought that we had not filmed one of the advertisements as we could not find it on the tape in the end we found it and was able to import the footage that we wanted for the advertisement.

I think that the advertisements were filmed well and we used a range of camera shots to express emotions. I believe as a group we worked well efficiently to produce good advertisements. If we had to do it again I would stick more to the storyboard. I developed many skills during the process of filming and editing. I feel much more confident with editing and we all contributed well to the group even though at times there were a few clashes.

I think as a group we should start to focus on detail when editing. There were a few times when we were editing and I felt that there were a few things that could make our work so much better but wasn't sure how to do it. Our advertisements looked good for our age especially as we had no experience of making any piece of film. While editing I learnt how to put scenes into a sequence and mark in and out. We used effects to make the advertisement look better and to add effect to the product we were advertising.

Our aim as a group was basically to make a catchy advertisement that would make people want smile and want to buy coke classic. I believe that we achieved this aim as a group and feel very proud.
